Shades and Space is a UK-based company specialising in made-to-measure window blinds, shutters, curtains and fitted furniture.

2. Our Services

Shades and Space provides the following products and services:

• Made-to-measure window blinds (roller, roman, venetian, vertical, pleated, wooden)
• Plantation shutters and window shutters
• Bespoke fitted wardrobes and storage solutions
• Free home consultations and measuring services
• Professional installation and fitting

3. Orders and Quotes

All quotes provided during home consultations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. A binding contract is formed when you accept our quote and pay the required deposit. All products are made to your specific measurements and are therefore bespoke items.

4. Pricing and Payment

• All prices quoted include VAT at the prevailing rate
• A deposit is required to confirm your order, with the balance due upon completion of installation
• We accept payment by bank transfer, debit card and credit card
• Finance options may be available subject to status and approval

5. Delivery and Installation

We will agree a delivery and installation date with you at the time of order. Our typical lead time is 2-3 weeks from order confirmation. We will contact you to arrange a convenient installation appointment. Our professional fitters will install your products with care and attention.

Please ensure that the installation area is clear and accessible on the agreed date. If you need to reschedule, please give us at least 48 hours' notice.

6. Cancellation and Returns

As our products are made to measure and bespoke to your specifications, they are exempt from the standard 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. However:

• You may cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it for a full refund
• After 24 hours, cancellation may be subject to charges for materials already ordered or work already commenced
• If there is a fault with your product, we will repair or replace it free of charge under our guarantee

7. Guarantee

All our products come with a comprehensive 5-year guarantee covering:

• Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship
• Mechanical components and operating mechanisms
• Installation workmanship

The guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, normal wear and tear, or unauthorised modifications. To make a warranty claim, please contact us with your order details.

8. Customer Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information about your requirements and property
• Ensure access to the property for measuring and installation appointments
• Inform us of any special requirements or access issues
• Follow care and maintenance instructions for your products

9. Limitation of Liability

• We will not be liable for any losses caused by factors outside our reasonable control
• Our liability shall not exceed the price paid for the products and services supplied
• Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law

11. Governing Law
